Chivas manager Matias Almeyda is one of the top three candidates for the same job at Independiente, according to La Nacion.
The recently crowned Copa Sudamericana champion needs a coach after Ariel Holan's departure, and Almeyda's name once again is in the mix after the club originally discussed bringing him in last winter.


JEMEZ WILL ASK FOR BACA AT LAS PALMAS

Rafael Baca may make the move across the Atlantic to join Las Palmas, according to AS.
Former Cruz Azul manager Paco Jemez is expected to take over the La Liga team and hopes to bring his former defensive midfielder with him. The 28-year-old Baca played with the San Jose Earthquakes before joining La Maquina.

AMERICA INTERESTED IN MENEZ

His former club, Boca Juniors, is still far and away the most likely destination and retirement also is an option, but Fregossi reports that Tigres, Club America and Pumas all have been in touch with Tevez's agent, Adrian Ruocco.
