La Liga table: Barcelona thrash Deportivo to go 11 points ahead of Real Madrid


Luiz Suarez and Paulinho scored a brace each, as Barcelona prepared for their El Clasico fixture against Real Madrid, with a 4-0 victory over Deportivo La Coruna on Sunday.

Barca overwhelmed their visitors at the Nou Camp, with all four finishes coming inside the six-yard box, while Lionel Messi missed a
couple of great chances.
Ernesto Valverde’s men now have 42 points from 16 games, 11 more than Real who have one outstanding fixture.

The La Liga champions have been away in the United Arab Emirates, where they won the Club World Cup by defeating Gremio 1-0.

Both sides face each other December 23 at the Santiago Bernabeu.
